I'm really struggling with the "big" project that we need to do for our portfolio. I can't think of anything to do. I feel like I hit a wall and I don't have any good ideas popping in my head! Otherwise, I think that the portfolio isn't all that bad. I'm having fun creating it...........tedious.....but I know I will look great when it's finished. I have all my standards done and now I'm working on all the different classes and artifacts. It's just time consuming to put everything together. So......if anyone has any great ideas for a final project ...........I'm all ears!!

Christy,
ReplyDeleteI have hit a wall too when it comes to the culminating experience. What were you thinking? Any main ideas we could help you brainstorm? Are you thinking a lesson plan or activity? wiki experience?
On the flip side, good for you on having so much of your portfolio together. I, too, am working on all the details and am finding it tedious but hope the outcome will be worth all the work!
The way I think about this is that what we have now may not be what our final portfolio will look like. It is still subject to change. So I would suggest to take you first idea and apply some goals to it and give yourself some deadlines. However remember that this are still flexible.
ReplyDeleteChristy,
ReplyDeleteWhat about an online grade book that is accessible to parents and students? That is if your district doesn't do that already. It seems to me that it will be required soon by all districts. In this age of information, what could make more sense? It is something like this that would be so useful, informative and immediate. Parents wouldn't necessarily have to come to conferences (although it is nice to meet them), they could track their kid's progress immediately.
Make a google spreadsheet that automatically calculates the grade. I think it's what I'm gonna do!
