I think this class is going to be good for me. I don't know about computer parts and how they work. I'm actually really scared to do the "under the hood" assignment. I think I better do it with someone who knows how to put it back together. HAHA I can get it apart, but putting it back together may be a problem. I guess we'll find out.
I'm excited to jump in and learn how to do things. I'm one of those people who is really afraid I'm going to break the computer, or do something wrong. I can put ink cartridges in and refill paper, but other than that I fail! I remember about a year ago someone asked me how much ram my computer had. WHATS THAT? Well, I know now, but that's how nieve I was about computers. In college and highschool I used computers all the time, but I was writing papers and doing research. I'm not a big computer person. I use one everyday at work, and I have a lap top, but I'm really basic and would rather do other things than sit on a computer. Who knows, maybe when I finish my masters, I will have learned so much that I won't want to get off the computer. Nah!!
Well, overall I'm excited about the new class and hopefully I can complete all of my assignments without a great deal of stress.

I'm really nervous about that assignment as well, Christy, so maybe that's why Dave wants us to do it - to expand our horizons! I'm going to make sure my husband is around, as he's already taken the computer apart so he knows what to do. It will be neat to learn about how these suckers work, though!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny. The first time anyone cracks open a computer case, fear and trepidation take over. Even for seasoned pros, there is always a little hesitation. So your feelings are more than natural. However, I wonder if these feelings are confined to computers, or would we feel the same way if we were to open the hood of the car.
